  3. I'm not on campus and can't get my degree paperwork in by April 1. What do I do?
    The deadline for the submission of thesis and dissertation materials has been extended to May 1, 2020. Please see the following SGS memo for more information.
  4. I'm not on campus. Can my defense be held virtually?
    Yes. Given current extraordinary circumstances, the SGS will permit remote defenses for candidates and their committee members. Please see the following SGS memo for more information.
  5. I want to submit my candidacy materials in person. Is the SGS open?
    While the Dean’s office is open, all staff are working remotely, and all materials must be submitted electronically at this time. If you have a degree materials-related question, please email remotedefense2020@grad.rutgers.edu.
  6. Are Health Services still available? Are Counseling Services still available?
    Yes, but with limited hours and services. Visit Student Health Operating Status for more information. Please call 848-932-7884 to make a counseling appointment.

    Rutgers Global has put together a FAQ to answer yoru questions.
  8. Are there any emergency funds available for students in need?
    Yes. With the generosity of the Graduate Student Association, the SGS is administering a COVID-19 emergency fund to assist registered students facing financial emergencies. The funds are limited to a maximum of $400.00 per allocation. To apply, please complete and return the application form. Regrettably, the funds are limited and we do not anticipate being able to meet all the requests we receive.

    Unfortunately, convocation has been canceled and university commencement suspended—it may be rescheduled at a later date. Please see President Barchi's Important Update on Courses, Events, and Commencement.

    Yes. Resources are available at our online teaching Sakai site. Assistant Dean Ramazan Güngör also hosts a weekly Webex workshop on the Fundamentals of Teaching Online.
