Dianne Yarnell

Dianne Yarnell has provided an essential continuity to a program that has had four program directors in as many years. She is a model of efficiency and organization, having put all records into an Access database. She is described as “sweet, kind, and beautifully articulate.” Ben Zablocki writes that, “We currently have eighty-eight active students and Dianne is friends with each of them. They confide in her....She is discreet and students know that they can trust her with their secrets...but [she] also encourages them to talk to faculty members when the problems threaten their ability to go on." Ms. Yarnell also “maintains close ties with our alumni. She not only knows where almost all of our Ph.D.s for the last ten years currently are, but also how they are doing and what they are hoping to do next.” Ben Zablocki adds, “As a first year graduate director, I am sure that I would not have been able to keep my head above water nearly as well as I have without Dianne Yarnell’s able assistance.”
