The Graduate School-New Brunswick annually presents the awards—the Excellence in Teaching Award, the Dean's Award for Excellence in Research by a Graduate Student, the Dissertation Teaching Award, and the Excellence in Administration Award—to outstanding students, faculty, and staff members.

Also to be announced at the reception are the 2010-2011 University and Bevier Fellows. In addition to the University and Bevier Fellowships, GSNB students were awarded over 130 national awards, honors, and distinctions in 2009-2010.
