Florence K. L. Tangka![]() Dr. Tangka received her M.S. from the Graduate School in 1994 and then went on to earn the Ph.D. at the University of Florida in 2001. She went to work at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as a health economist where she has made important contributions to understanding the effectiveness of cancer screening, modeling the fiscal impact of chronic diseases and estimating demand for a national breast cancer screening program. Dr. Tangka is now the Senior Economist in the Epidemiology and Applied Research branch of the CDC and is widely recognized as an authority in econometric analyses of issues related to cancer and other diseases and is the recipient of several awards. Dr. Tangka will be speaking at the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences seminar, Cancer Prevention and Control Research at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: Examples of Health Services and Economics Researchseminar. |
