William A. Reiners![]() After chairing the Department of Biological Sciences at Dartmouth College, Dr. Reiners moved to the University of Wyoming, where he became the head of its Department of Botany. One of the most prominent ecosystem ecologists in the world, he made early and seminal contributions through his work on the pathbreaking Hubbard Brook study of a deforested watershed ecosystem. He has continued to break new ground by using modern techniques to understand ecosystems in Wyoming. He is widely published and is a fellow of the AAAS and an active leader in the Ecological Society of America. Rutgers' Graduate Programs in Ecology & Evolution and Plant Biology will be holding a seminar presented by Dr. Reiners, A Descriptive Science Philosophy for Ecology: Constrained Perspectivism, on Friday, March 2. |
