Distinguished Alumni/ae Awards


The Graduate School-New Brunswick invites you to nominate distinguished alumni/ae of your programs for awards in recognition of their accomplishments. The awards will be presented at a reception followed by dinner.

Nominations are being solicited for:

      Rutgers Graduate School-New Brunswick Early Career Alumni/ae Award for
      Distinguished Accomplishments and Service

      Rutgers Graduate School-New Brunswick Alumni/ae Award for
      Distinguished Accomplishments and Service in the...

  • Humanities
  • Social and Behavioral Sciences
  • Mathematical and Physical Sciences and Engineering
  • Biological Sciences

      Rutgers Graduate School-New Brunswick Alumni/ae Award for a
      Lifetime of Distinguished Accomplishments and Service

Candidates for all of these awards should have demonstrated accomplishments in research, education, technology, leadership, and/or service to the community, the nation, or the world. All candidates should have an earned M.A., M.S., or Ph.D. degree from a Rutgers University graduate program in New Brunswick/Piscataway.

Candidates for the Early Career Award should have received their terminal degree no earlier than January 1997. Candidates for the Lifetime Award may be members of the Rutgers University Hall of Distinguished Alumni/ae. Since these awards will be awarded annually, all nominations will remain active for 3 years. If you nominated an alumnus/alumna for the October 2004 recognition, that nomination is still active; you are welcome to provide supplementary material.

Nominations for these awards should be submitted no later than October 1 to:

Questions about the procedures may be addressed to Dean Waterman by email or telephone, 732-932-7275. Nominations will be considered by a committee that includes members of the Graduate School Dean's Advisory Council and of the Executive Council of the Graduate School-New Brunswick.

Nomination packets should include:

  • A short narrative summarizing the qualifications of the candidate
  • A CV or resume
  • 2 letters of reference
