Marsha MorinMarsha Morin has transformed the administration of the Ecology and Evolution program and has done so with a three-quarters appointment. She has computerized program information about students and applicants, the latter available to admissions committee members. She produces a monthly departmental newsletter, coordinates the weekly seminars, and maintains the program website. She introduced afternoon “tea”, developed a handbook for students, maintains a “Rogues’ Gallery” of current students and maintains one for recent alumni as well. But, as is true of all the best graduate program AAs, she serves, says Joan Ehrenfeld, “as friend, advisor, and stern parent, all rolled into one, to most of the students, and they appreciate this profoundly.” But even more, “it is the passion for science, for ecology and evolution in particular, that she communicates, and the passion for involvement and engagement in the profession that...distinguishes her....She truly trains our students in how to be excellent colleagues....” |
