Gail Levin

Dr. Levin is an art historian, curator, and biographer of international repute. She has been astonishingly prolific on many topics of 20th century American art and is generally considered to be the leading expert on Edward Hopper. She has long held a position at Baruch College and the Graduate Center of the City University of New York, has curated exhibitions at the Modern, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Tate, and elsewhere. She is the recipient of many awards and is in wide demand as a lecturer as well. Particularly notable for us, she has been a loyal friend of Rutgers, procuring internships for our students and valuable gifts for the Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Art Museum.
