Kathleen A. Frankovic received her Ph.D. from Rutgers in 1974, under the direction of Gerald Pomper. After teaching political science at the University of Vermont for some years, she went on to join the survey research unit at CBS News, where she is now Director of Surveys and Producer. Since 1996 Dr. Frankovic has been a Senior Producer for CBS News election broadcasts and, since 2002, has led the team that projects the results of U.S. national and state elections. She is a past president of the American Association for Public Opinion Research and President of the World Association for Public Opinion Research. One contributor to her success is her grounding in Political Science, which makes her one of the most scholarly and careful of pollsters and a spokesperson for the democratic uses of opinion polls.
