Zoe FinkelZoe Finkel, a physiological ecologist, works in areas spanning from biological oceanography to evolutionary biology and has done work that has been published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (of which a reviewer termed her work “ground breaking”), Nature, and other premier journals. The theme of her research is the role size plays in the ecology and evolution of aquatic phytoplankton. She has shown that these have varied greatly in size in the course of their evolution, demonstrating that large cells are favored during interglacial periods, small ones during glacial cycles. |
