As part of our commitment to foster exploration, discovery, and innovation in graduate education, the School of Graduate Studies is pleased to offer annual Dean’s Fellowships to talented incoming students from a wide variety of backgrounds. The objective of these fellowships, previously called Diversity Fellowships, is to broaden participation in graduate study. Based on a broad definition of diversity, these awards should help our graduate programs recruit and retain excellent graduate students across the disciplines.
Process: The streamlined nomination, evaluation, and award process implemented in 2018 will continue for the 2019 admissions cycle. The timeline will be announced the week of January 2 by email to all graduate program directors and graduate administrative assistants.
Eligibility: For School of Graduate Studies (School 16) programs, only first-year PhD applicants are eligible for nomination.
Financial benefits: New awards carry a stipend of $25,000, tuition remission, and Fellow health insurance.
